I know you've been missing the trivia. Well, Spring Break is over, the f was in town for the weekend, and we celebrated Easter Eve by rocking the Saturday night trivia. It was a tough one, and I'll skip a couple of our misses, because it was tough to follow the wording on some of them. Here's what I wrote down. Happy Easter.

4. Ellen DeGeneres. I'm not sure I really understand what "called to the couch" means in context.
"Called to the couch" was a big deal and it was like getting a blessing from the Comedy Pope.
Unless it was a big name comedian, they'd do their act, the show would go to commercial, and the comedian would be gone. If Johnny liked the act, he'd call them over to the couch. Very few comedians made it over on their first visit.
I can't find it online, so I might have heard it on a TV special, but comedians talked about there being a list of Carson signs. He could give them the thumbs up, comment "that's some funny stuff," or bring them over to the couch. If he didn't say anything, they'd probably never get asked back.
